ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø established the Department of Occupational Therapy (OT) in 1982. It is the second oldest OT program in the State of Illinois. Our mission is to create and support a transformative, diverse community of lifelong learners. Read our full mission and vision here.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is a healthcare profession that helps people of all ages participate in the everyday activities that matter most to them.

Occupational therapy practitioners support individuals across the lifespan with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities in building skills, using adaptive strategies, and accessing tools that promote independence and improve overall quality of life.

Undergraduate Bridge to Graduate Program

Begin as an undergraduate student in the Pre-OT pathway and progress into the MOT program.

Apply to the MOT program after completing a bachelor’s degree and prerequisite coursework.

Once you graduate from ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏ꿉۪s Master of Occupational Therapy program, you will be eligible to sit for the national certification exam administered by the  

After you pass the exam, you will earn the credential of Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR®). With this certification in hand, you can pursue your state licensure and begin your career in a wide range of clinical and non-traditional settings, where you will serve individuals across the lifespan.
