Nicola Milton

Hello! My name is Nicola Milton.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I love what I do and am passionate about helping/serving others, in any capacity, hence my life's motto- "I overcame to help others overcome".

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from DePaul University and my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

As the Assistant Director of Abilities Services, I am committed to empowering students to advocate for their needs to achieve their educational goals and reduce potential disruptive barriers.

My professional interests include mental/emotional/spiritual health, advocacy (empowering individuals to pursue their needs and rights), and supervision (supporting professionals in their development). I strive to be a positive, strength-focused individual, leaving others feeling encouraged and inspired.

I look forward to “embracing, engaging, educating, propelling, and elevating” during my time at ڰ!

Nicole Mathews

Nicole Mathews

Hello! My name is Nicole Mathews. I am a passionate Occupational Therapy Professional and a certified Project Management Professional whose mission is to make higher education more accessible, equitable, and responsive to the needs of students with disabilities and health-related barriers.

With an Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant, a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a Master of Arts degree from Governors State University in Communications & Training, I’ve intentionally built a bridge between clinical practice, educational systems and program leadership.

As the Abilities Office Coordinator, I am committed to engaging students, families, community stakeholders and University Partners to meet the needs of our students with disabilities. I see my role as essential in crafting a campus environment where every student can engage fully and thrive academically.

My personal style is warm, reflective and grounded in the idea that while each student’s path is unique, they deserve a coordinated system of support built intentionally and respectfully.

I look forward to connecting with colleagues, students, and partners who are committed to advancing access, agency, and achievement in higher education.
