Test Proctoring 

The Abilities Office offers test proctoring services for students registered with our office. To schedule a proctored exam, you must make an appointment in advance. 

 

Who is Eligible? 

Test proctoring is available for students registered with the Abilities Office in the current semester who have one or more of the following approved accommodations: 

  • Use of adaptive software 
  • Reduced distraction testing 
  • Testing with a reader  
  • Testing with a scribe 
  • Alternate format testing 
  • Writing on test 
  • Paper exam 
  • Testing breaks 
  • Use of a calculator 
  • Use of scratch paper 
  • Extended test time* 

*NOTE: If a student only requires extended test time, faculty should coordinate the testing within their own department or college. 

Please note that the capacity for test proctoring is limited; priority will be given in the following order: 

  • Use of adaptive software 
  • Reduced distraction testing 
  • Testing with a reader  
  • Testing with a scribe 
  • Alternate format testing 
  • Extended test time 

 

How to Schedule 

To request test proctoring, a student or faculty member should contact the Abilities Office via their official university email address. The request must include the following information: 

  • Course name and number 
  • Professor's name 
  • Exam details (date, time, etc.) 

Important: Regardless of who initiates the request, the professor must complete and submit a Faculty Testing Form to finalize the arrangement. 

 

Testing Locations 

Tests are proctored at the Abilities Office (SUB 160) or the Abilities Lab (SUB 167). All tests are administered in private rooms with noise-canceling devices available for student use. 

The space is also equipped with lockers for students to store their belongings.
